Wuhan, Hubei-Province / Central China
I started in June 2006 from Vienna heading to Beijing and further with a domestic flight to my final destination, Wuhan. It’s just the right time in the year to visit one of the so called "Hot Spots" of China. The temperature was at least 30°C every day with very hot nights where the temperature never really dropped below 25°C. However, this was just the beginning of a very hot summer, sometimes high temperature close to 40°C.
I am still not sure where all the mosquitoes came from. The invasion started right after sunset, and it was a nightmare! No serious help at all. Luckily survived!
Away from very hard and unusual bad working conditions the social life in Wuhan is quiet good. A bunch of really good, cheap restaurants compatible with European stomachs as well. Sometimes quiet spicy. If you visit this area better get used to spicy food - you will enjoy it!
After a nice dinner my way sometimes ended in my favorite Club: The SOHO Bar. In nearly three month I could not manage to reserve a table for me and my friends. Never. That's a good sign meaning everybody wants to be inside. However, at the beginning it was just a matter of a few drinks on the bar till someone came over and invited us to their high table just to chat and improve their English of simple if they wanted company for drinking. That meant a lot to me! Soho is definitely a place to go for party and to hang out with friends. I had never a bad experience there. Expect sometimes on the next day. God bless Alkaselza...

AntwortenLöschenWould like to go there again just to see what's changed over the years. Unfortunately I cannot support an upcoming project in Wuhan as I wanted to. More important things coming up, it seems.
